TMJ arthrocentesis is a minimally invasive procedure used to diagnose and treat temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. The procedure is performed by an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and is done in our office under local or general anesthesia.

During the procedure, a small needle is inserted into the TMJ to remove any excess fluid or debris that may be causing inflammation or pain. The joint is then typically injected with medications to reduce inflammation in the joint.
